Description
About Us (2025) is an acrylic painting by Egon Prijon that reflects on collective identity and shared existence. Human silhouettes and cosmic elements form a metaphysical procession, suggesting humanity not as isolated individuals but as participants in a continuous, interconnected narrative.
“About Us” (2025) stages a metaphysical drama of attention, belonging, and indifference. Glowing humanoid figures drift along a divided horizon—some raising their heads toward cosmic alignments, others bending down to engage with earthly ruptures where energy and ideas erupt like volcanic insight. Yellow vortexes spiral upward from the chasm below, interacting with both natural and symbolic elements—fire, water, wind, and earth—blending classical elements with modern societal metaphors. A red flag sits at the midpoint, a call to awareness as the terrain curves into a cosmic recursion, where individuals dissolve into collective stasis or awaken into dynamic formation.
The composition is anchored by a diagonal pathway—a visual metaphor for the flow of ideas—flanked by ethereal figures and cosmic motifs. A radiant sun and swirling forms evoke quantum entanglement and the propagation of thought, referencing the “eigenvector” as a metaphor for the spread of ideas. Influenced by Surrealism and collective uncounsciousness, “About Us” creates a dynamic interplay between chaos and order, the individual and the collective.
The work becomes a psychological mirror, inviting viewers to reflect on their own role in the evolving narrative of collective consciousness.
