Signal / Perception Shift investigates observation, distinction and interpretation.
Description
Signal / Perception Shift investigates the instability of perception and what happens when the organization of what we perceive changes.
A signal enters an existing field of memories, expectations, associations, and previous interpretations. When its context or relationship changes, the observer does not simply receive new information. The entire perceptual configuration may be reorganized.
The subtitle Altered Recollection extends this investigation into memory. Recollection is not treated as a fixed archive. Each act of remembering occurs from a new present position, and a change in perception can also transform how the past is understood.
The composition offers competing visual cues and unstable pathways of attention. What initially appears significant may become peripheral; what was overlooked may acquire new importance.
The work examines the moment when a change in perception becomes a change in experienced reality.
