System / Masters describes how is transition from one form to another conditioned by organizational authority.

Description

System / Masters investigates authority not as a fixed possession but as something produced through relationships.

Nodes, trajectories, intersections, and competing centres form a network in which no element remains entirely autonomous. Some structures appear dominant, yet their position depends upon the connections that sustain them. Authority emerges from the system even as it attempts to organize that system.

The composition oscillates between hierarchy and decentralization. What initially appears to be a dominant centre becomes entangled in the very network over which it seems to exercise control.

The painting can be approached through political, social, institutional, or psychological systems without representing any one of them literally. Its deeper question remains open: does authority organize the network, or does the network produce authority?
